I formed in ecology and biogeochemistry at the University of Barcelona and the Autonomous University of Barcelona. My research has focused on biogeochemical cycling in Mediterranean forests with a specific focus measuring atmospheric nitrogen and sulphur deposition to forest ecosystems.I have collaborated with atmospheric physicist to determine pollutant transport patterns and changes in atmospheric chemistry at a background mountain site.

I have collaborated with atmospheric physicist to determine pollutant transport patterns and changes in atmospheric chemistry at a background mountain site. A special focus has been devoted to the transport and deposition of African dust in the NE Iberian Peninsula. I have gathered a long-term data record of water and nutrient fluxes (30 years) at the catchment scale that may help to determine the effects of atmospheric pollution and climate change on Mediterranean forests.
