Open Geospatial Consortium - The Web Mapping Code Sprint

Tuesday, November 29, 2022 to Thursday, December 1, 2022

The Web Mapping Code Sprint. The hybrid virtual and in-person event will be held on November 29 - December 1, 2022. It consists of a collaborative and inclusive event to support the development of new applications and open standards and create awareness about those applications and standards.

Nùria Julià and Joan Masó, researchers at CREAF and part of the GRUMETS-UAB group, will participate in a hackathon to update MiraMon map functionalities and test new standards of the MiraMon maps' browser.

Code Sprints experiment with emerging ideas in the context of geospatial standards, help improve interoperability of existing standards by testing with new extensions or profiles, and are used for building proofs-of-concept to support standards-development activities and the enhancement of software products. Non-coding activities such as testing, working on documentation, or reporting issues are welcomed during the code sprint. In addition, the code sprints’ mentor stream provides an excellent opportunity to onboard developers new to the standards.

Registration for in-person participation closes at 17:00 CET on November 24. Registration for remote participation will remain open throughout the code sprint. Registration is available on The OGC Web Mapping Code Sprint website

The code sprint is organized by OGC and hosted in Brussels, Belgium, by EuroGeographics. The code sprint is generously sponsored at the Gold Level by OGC Strategic Member, Ordnance Survey.
