Consolidated Research Group supported by Generalitat de Catalunya that includes researches devoted to study terrestrial ecosystems functioning. The group focuses on ecosystem responses to environmental changes that at large extent are determined by human activity and are often related to global change. These studies correspond to several topics and methodological approaches.

The group studies the functioning of terrestrial ecosystems in response to global change. We use an approach based on the functional biogeography . This discipline studies  species  functional traits, their diversity and their significance in the environmental gradients, particularly in a context of climate change. The project activity focuses on plant species and communities, as well as their interaction with other organisms, such as animals and microorganisms.
