CREAF

CREAF is seeking a support technician, for field and laboratory work on the SPRING project (Preparatory Action for EU Pollinator Monitoring Scheme and Indicators) with ref. RA-220/21, financed by the European Commission.
The contracted person will oversee pollinator sampling and the processing and identification of specimens in the laboratory.
The contract will be full-time and will begin in mid-November 2022, with an expected duration of one year. The salary offered is 22.007,37 € gross per year.

TASKS
- Monitoring of pollinator populations with various sampling methods.
- Color trap sample processing.
- Preparation and maintenance of insect collections.
- Identification of specimens at the species level.
- Digitization of data.
- Preparation of educational materials on pollinators.
- Participation in training courses on pollinator identification.

REQUIREMENTS
- Degree in Environmental Biology, Biology, Environmental Sciences, or similar studies.
- Experience in pollinator sampling.
- Experience in preparing insect collections.
- Knowledge of taxonomy of butterflies, bees and syrphids.
- Availability to travel during the field season.
- Experience in citizen science.

ASSESSABLE CONDITIONS
- Knowledge of botany.
- Knowledge of GIS.
- Good level of understanding of the English language.

SELECTION PROCES AND CRITERIA
1.
