I have a degree in Biology (Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona, 1989) and a Master's degree in Environmental Management (Yale, 1991 and UAB, 2010). I have been a researcher at CREAF since 1995.

My research focuses on the design and development of Information Systems applied to environmental management, especially in protected areas, and on the modelling of biodiversity and the analysis of its protection. I lead and coordinate projects for the development of software tools applied to different areas of environmental management, e.g. natural heritage management, protected areas, biodiversity databases and georeferencing of biological materials.

I have participated and continue to participate in European and national research projects (e.g. DAISIE, MONTES, Dormant) in public administration contracts. I teach in the Master in Remote Sensing and GIS taught by CREAF-UAB and I have participated in other masters and postgraduate courses in Spanish universities.

Research Interests:
  • Explain and map biodiversity distribution at all levels and scales, temporal and spatial
  • Assessment of biodiversity conservation and protection
  • Biodiversity informatics

I have participated in different european and spanish resarch projects (e.g. DAISIE, MONTES, Dormant, React) and contracts with the public administration. I collaborate as a lecturer in different master and postgraduate studies.

Ph D. in Terrestrial Ecology (UAB, 2013), Master in Environmental Sciences (UAB, 2009 and Yale, 1991), Bachelor's degree in Biology (UAB, 1989).
