PhD in Biological Sciences by the University of Barcelona. I have been a CREAF researcher since 2020, although I have been an associate researcher at the center since 2017. I am also the scientific director of the Institut Català d'Ornitologia and vice president of the European Bird Census Council since April 2023, afeter several years as a member of the Board of Directors.

During my professional career I have worked in the promotion and coordination of large-scale and long-term bird monitoring projects, with the aim of contributing to knowledge about changes in biodiversity and the factors that explain it. I highlight the scientific coordination and research associated with the monitoring of common birds and bird atlases, both in Catalonia and in Europe as a whole. Among others, the second European Breeding Bird Atlas (EBBA2) is one of the most far-reaching citizen science projects ever undertaken, covering more than 10 million km2, 50 countries and 120,000 participants. A second focus of interest has been the development of summary indicators of changes in biodiversity, for which I coordinate the Living Planet Index project in Catalonia.

I am part of the work team of the Observatori del Patrimoni Natural i la Biodiversitat de Catalunya and I participate in different European research projects, aimed at providing tools to achieve useful monitoring and associated research to manage and conserve the natural environment in a context of global change.
