The main objective of the project is to promote scientific culture in forestry themes, and to aware of the forests vital role for the environment ecology. The project is planned in an adapted language and methodology especially to young and adult people and more specifically to blind public.

Introduction

In the case of teenagers, with or without visual impairments, it seeks to enhance its environment sensitivity through the perception and promote its knowledge and stimulate scientific curiosity.

Among the adult public, with or without visual impairment, is intended to provide a contact with the forest and enhance their general knowledge of the environment through the scientific information and stimulate their perception through all the senses.

The project also aims to be the incentive of a new line of activities related to the scientific culture promotion among the public with sensory impairments. Provide practical tools to increase the skills of visually impaired participants in the field increase their autonomy and strengthen their involvement developing activities within the organizations they belong to.

This project is in collaboration with ONCE and the company Naturalwalks.

Conclusions

L'ONCE Catalunya ha col·laborat en el projecte titulat " A peu pels boscos ", impulsat pel CREAFy coordinat per l'empresa Naturalwalks , que ha comptat amb el finançament de la Fundació Espanyola per a la Ciència i la Tecnologia ( FECYT ) del Ministeri de Ciència i Innovació .

Durant el projecte , que s'ha dut a terme d'octubre a juliol, diferents grups de persones afiliades a l'ONCE, acompanyades per voluntaris, han participat en sortides pels boscos de tot Catalunya. Un centenar de persones cegues han pogut descobrir així alguns secrets del parc de Collserola, a Barcelona, i altres de Tarragona i Girona.

" A peu pels boscos " s'ha basat en l'ús de la percepció com a eina per entendre i viure un ecosistema tan complex com és un bosc. Un conjunt de tallers participatius adaptats i conduïts per un guia expert, han permès que persones amb discapacitat visual millorin els seus coneixements científics en l'àmbit forestal. El llenguatge i metodologia dels tallers ha estat fonamentat per potenciar l'ús dels sentits no visuals (olor, tacte, oïda, gust, etc) .

A cada visita s'han combinat explicacions teòriques sobre els aspectes més científics relacionats amb l'ecologia, el maneig del bosc, o la diversitat, amb experiències pràctiques en el terreny, on les persones cegues viuen en primera persona les tècniques d'anàlisi i d'estudi de els boscos. De forma transversal, s'ha posat una especial atenció a les sensacions ia la percepció dels detalls que ens ofereixen aquests ambients naturals .
