Technician

Abiel Teixidó Bonfill

Environmental biologist from Priorat, technician in the TRACES project at CREAF, studying plant functional traits and their response to drought. I also have experience in genetics, mutualisms, and metabolic traits.

My name is Abiel, and I’m from Priorat. A few weeks ago, I joined CREAF as a technician in the TRACES project, working with Eva Castells and Jordi Martínez. In this project, we will focus on studying the integration and coordination of various plant functional traits, such as water use, resource use, and metabolic traits, both globally and at the intraspecific level, and how they respond to experimental drought conditions.

I am an Environmental Biologist from UAB, and I recently completed a Master’s in Biodiversity and Conservation Biology at the Universidad Pablo de Olavide in Seville. In previous experiences, I’ve worked in different areas of plant biology, such as studying the genetic traits of fruit trees at the Center for Research in Agricultural Genomics, analyzing plant mutualist relationships with dispersers at the Doñana Biological Station, and exploring the metabolic traits of plant species during a previous stint at CREAF.

I am passionate about nature and the mountains. In my free time, I enjoy climbing and hiking. I’m also a big fan of attending concerts and festivals.
