I’m a biologist and zoologist from Madrid. To describe myself, I’d say I’m fascinated by the possibilities of genomics to answer a wide range of evolutionary questions. I’m joining Dr. Oriol…
During my PhD at the Institut de Biologia Evolutiva (CSIC-UPF) in Barcelona, I applied genomics to study various groups of reptiles and amphibians, addressing topics ranging from conservation and systematics to the role of introgression in ecological adaptation and the evolution of certain genes, such as venom-encoding genes in vipers or hemoglobin in mountain-dwelling lizards.
Now, at CREAF, I’m joining Dr. Oriol Lapiedra’s lab as a postdoc to explore the genomic bases of behavior in the Ibiza wall lizard, an endangered reptile under strong selective pressures due to an ongoing snake invasion. However, during weekends you’ll most likely find me hiking and far from computers, as I love trekking and wildlife photography.
