I am a terrestrial community ecologist interested in a wide variety of topics from tropical forest dynamics and restoration (PhD thesis, 2012), to biodiversity responses to global change and its consequences to ecosystem functioning.

My main line of research focuses on the analysis of the different facets of biodiversity (taxonomic, phylogenetic and functional) to understand the mechanisms underlying its generation, maintenance and its assembly into dynamic and diverse communities. This exciting quest of basic responses may help us to improve our forecasts about the responses of biodiversity to global change drivers and the expected impacts on the functioning of the Earth system.
