I obtained my PhD in Experimental Sciences and Sustainability from the University of Girona (2015). I also hold two degrees in Geography (2011) and Environmental Science (2008) from the University of Girona. I have completed three postdoctoral appointments at the Department of Pest-Management and Conservation of Lincoln University (New Zealand), the Department of Ecology, Evolution & Behavior at the University of Minnesota (United States), and the Department of Botany and Zoology of Masaryk University (Czech Republic).

My field of expertise is in plant ecology. In particular, I aim to understand the ecological and evolutionary determinants of plant diversity and composition across scales and habitats (forests, grasslands, and urban environments). I use analysis of evolutionary relationships among plant species and plant functional traits to understand the processes that shape ecosystems and the effects of global change (e.g., climate change and plant invasion) on ecosystem functioning.
