Lucía Galiano Pérez
I have a degree in Biology from the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona (2006), a PhD in Terrestrial Ecology from the same university (2012) and a postgraduate degree in Public Conflict Resolution and Community Mediation from the University of Girona (2017). Since 2021 I have been the coordinator of CREAF's experimental infrastructures.
I have worked in different research profiles (qualified research technician, predoctoral and postdoctoral researcher) at CREAF since 2006. During my research period I studied the response of forests to environmental changes, with emphasis on the mobilisation of carbon reserves in plant tissues to cope with the impact of drought in a context of climate change. This research led me to predoctoral and postdoctoral stays at several international universities and centres: the Swedish University of Agricultural Sciences (Uppsala, Sweden) in 2017; the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg (Germany) and the Swiss Federal Institute for Forest, Snow and Landscape Research (Birmensdorf, Switzerland) during the period 2014-2016; the Leibniz-Centre for Agricultural Landscape Research (Müncheberg, Germany) in 2013, and the University of Montana (Missoula, USA) in 2009 and 2010. I have also worked as a research technician at the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2018 and I was adjunct professor of Ecotoxicology and Contamination and Food Toxicology at the same university during the period 2018-2021.
As CREAF's infrastructure coordinator, I can bring to the centre the knowledge I have accumulated over the years in the different scientific institutions in which I have worked, their methodologies and different forms of organisation. In addition, I can put in value the quality and safety of scientific work at CREAF's experimental infrastructures and the effective and quality human relations at work.
