Research Impact Technician

Oriol Daura Pich

Meaningful and impactful science must benefit citizens and our precious natural environment. I am committed to promoting a positive impact of research beyond the boundaries of academia.
Office: C5/1112

I hold a bachelor's degree in Environmental Biology (Autonomous University of Barcelona, 2014) and a master's degree in Environmental Agrobiology (University of Barcelona, 2016). I then joined Futureco Bioscience for six years as manager of the biochemistry and quality control laboratory, where we identified secondary metabolites with biocontrol and/or biofertiliser potential from bacteria and fungi. During this time, we established a new certified laboratory (ISO 17025) for the analysis of fertilisers and pesticides. Prior to my involvement with CREAF, I held a position at the Barcelona Supercomputing Centre as a Research Project Manager, overseeing a range of pre- and post-award tasks.

As a Research Impact Technician at CREAF, my objective is to facilitate the knowledge mobilisation and impact of research. My core roles are to provide specialised impact support services to our researchers, to contribute in building impact competencies and awareness of staff and to promote and facilitate the development of CREAF's Impact Monitoring and Assessment Framework.
