Roxanne Leberger

Postdoctoral researcher involved in BioAgora, a European Horizon project dedicated to establishing a biodiversity science-service for the European Commission.

She holds a PhD in conservation ecology, through a collaboration between the Joint Research Center (JRC) of the European Commission in Italy and the German Centre for Integrative Biodiversity Research (iDiv) in Germany. During her stay at the JRC, she focused on building an indicator of forest habitat uniqueness. She then joined iDiv to investigate protected area effectiveness to prevent forest logging at the global scale, as well as the impact of climate and land-use change on the Mediterranean wetlands.

Afterward, she worked at iDiv as a data scientist, exploring the changes in plant-pollinator interaction networks with altitude and time. Additionally, she studied plant demography to assess the conservation status and threats to an endemic thistle species in the Great Lakes region.

She has developed a growing interest in bridging the gap between science and policy, aiming for scientific research to have a more significant influence on policy decisions.
