Sandra Nogué Bosch

Biogeographer who explores the mechanisms by which vegetation, in particular on island ecosystems, interacts with the environment. Her main motivation is bringing the perspectives of space and time to bear on questions in biogeography. Her work uses a palaeoecological approach (e.g. fossil pollen, charcoal, and ancient molecules) to help understand how resilient individual plant species and their assemblages are to past and future disturbances.

PhD in Biology (Palaeoecology) for the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona-Botanical Institute of Barcelona in 2009, and licenciate in Biology by the Universitat Autònoma de Barcelona in 2004. Sandra Nogué joined CREAF in December 2021. Previously she was a Lecturer in Palaeoenvironmental Science at the School of Geography and the Environmental Science at the University of Southampton (UK) and a postdoctoral research at the Long-term Ecology Laboratory, Department of Zoology, of the University of Oxford (UK) and at the Ecological and Environmental Change Research Group of the University of Bergen (Norway).
