Habitat loss and ecosystem alteration are considered the most significant threats to biodiversity.
Most organisms do not tolerate environmental changes well, but some, on the other hand, seem to perceive them as ecological opportunities. Unfortunately, we still do not understand well why species vary in their response to environmental changes. Our research aims to understand how animals respond to changes, with a special emphasis on the behavioral responses of life history to new environments. We approach this problem from ecological and evolutionary perspectives, integrating phylogenetic analyses, models, and experiments in birds and mammals.
