EFSA's tender to estimate pollen and nectar consumption levels in solitary bees and bumblebees as an indirect measure of pesticide exposure.
In agricultural environments, bees are routinely exposed to pesticides. The levels of oral exposure depend on the amounts of pollen and nectar consumed and their respective pesticide concentrations.
The objectives of this project are to develop protocols and conduct experiments to estimate pollen and nectar consumption in adult and larval bumblebees and solitary bees.
