Latinoamerican network for the monitoring of the conservation and recovery of tropical humid and dry forests in the framewrok of reed+ programm

The main objective of this cooperative network is the interchange of knowledge among scientist of 7 Latin-American countries (Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, España, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay) on the conservation and recovery of tropical humid- and dry-forests in the framework of the REDD+ program. 

This general aim will be accomplished through three main objectives:

i) To compare the current dynamics of deforestation among countries,

ii) To improve the methods for calculating the content and emissions of carbon driven by deforestation and

iii)To analyze sustainable forest management strategies for humid- and dry-tropical forests in light of global change.
