The FenoRural project aims to promote citizen participation in the study of climate change through phenological observation in rural environments by involving rural communities in various citizen science initiatives and activities adapted to different levels of commitment and audiences. These activities also aim to publicize and disseminate scientific advances and knowledge generated in this field.
The initiative is based on the citizen science communities already established in the RitmeNatura citizen observatory and the FenoCat network of phenological observers, both with an outstanding background, with the aim of maintaining and expanding them. The actions to be developed aim to extend the reach of the observatories and associated research, democratizing access to science and contributing to the revitalization of rural areas to overcome many of the existing geographic and social barriers to access to scientific culture.
