Drought regime shifts and global warming: Impacts, mechanisms, forecasts and mitigation strategies

To feed predictive models and improve forecasts, the project will quantify, observationally and experimentally, the responses to extreme drought conditions in model tree, shrub, plant and insect species.
The REGIME-SHIFTS project wil provide detailed descriptions of drought regime shifts in the Iberian Peninsula, and an assessment of their main drivers. The project will quantify the impacts of drought regime shifts on forest carbon sequestration, functional genomics and biodiversity.
