CREAF has released its annual report for 2022, which provides a comprehensive overview of our scientific activities throughout the year, and showcases a solidified presence and impact of our centre across various pivotal domains.

With a positive employment growth, the headcount for CREAF has gone up to 287 people, 160 of whom are dedicated to research activities. In the scientific realm, it is noteworthy that we have produced 321 articles, 91% of which were published in top-quartile journals. Additionally, CREAF has been involved in a total of 142 active projects: 47 of them have been granted European funding, and 2 projects are being coordinated by CREAF members. Furthermore, the plan outlined for the Severo Ochoa accreditation has been implemented successfully.

The year 2022 saw outstanding events at CREAF. At the local and national level, the Spanish Minister for Ecological Transition and Demographic Challenge paid a visit to our facilities, we signed key collaboration agreements with relevant stakeholders -such as the Barcelona City Council-, and Joan Pino, CREAF's Director, was appointed member of the Advisory Council for the Sustainable Development of Catalonia. At the international level, we atttended both COP15 on Biodiversity and COP27 on Climate Change with an accredited observer institution status, and we joined the AMWAJ Alliance on sustainable water management in the Mediterranean basin, among other notable milestones.

Some significat internal initiatives include the launch of CREAF's Knowledge and Technology Transfer programme with initial agreements and contacts, as well as multiple citizen science activities, and several communication and outreach institutional projects.
