CREAF, observer organisation at the 8th IPBES plenary session

Share

As a new observer organization, from CREAF we are taking part in the IPBES 8th Plennary session, from today 14th to the 24th of June 2021. Our scientific coordinator, Alícia Pérez-Porro, and researcher Lluís Brotons are taking part in this annual meeting that is held online.

The Plenary will further address different knowledge assessments: a scoping report for a thematic assessment of the interlinkages among biodiversity, water, food and health; a scoping report for a thematic assessment of the underlying causes of biodiversity loss and the determinants of transformative change and options for achieving the 2050 Vision for Biodiversity; and illustrate the work interlinkages of the first co-sponsored workshop by IPBES and IPCC on biodiversity and climate change, the first-ever collaboration between these two bodies.

The 8th session is further concentrating on how IPBES builds capacity, strengthens knowledge foundations and supports policy.
