Environmental Change Ecology Group

Consolidated Research Group supported by Generalitat de Catalunya that studies of the interdependence between the biogeodynamics of the biogeosphere (transport, storage and reactivity of materials and energy related to organisms) and the different ways that biodiversity manifests and distributes (genes, biological type, species, communities, biomes).

Points of interest include all aspects related to the dynamics of change in nature, such as: transport of substances and long distance dispersal of organisms; processes of colonization and replacement of species; molecular tracers of ecological processes; ecosystem connectivity between elements at different scales; the structure and dynamics of food webs; ecosystem resilience and resistance; ontogeny processes; characteristic scales; variability spectra; internal vs external dynamics drivers; eco-evolutionary constraints and bottlenecks, among others.
