DeBosCat

Monitoring network for observing the status of Catalonian forests

The aim is to obtain the maximum amount of information possible on the actual state of Catalan forests and thus improve their management.

DEBOSCAT is a monitoring tool for the state of Catalonia’s forests. The initiative, promoted by the Department of Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries, Food, and Environment, coordinated by CREAF and in collaboration with Rural Agents, aims to gather the maximum information about the state of Catalonia’s forests.

An annual georeferenced record is made of forest decline episodes linked to drought and other extreme climatic events.
