I have a degree in Environmental Science from the Universita degli Studi di Sassari and a PhD in Soil Science from the Autonomous University of Barcelona. My research activity has focused on the study of the activity, and genetics and functional diversity of soil microbial community in response to different types of organic waste application. I have also contributed to various studies about the response of the soil microbial community to climate change.

Currently I participate on projects focused on the assessment of the effects on soil microorganisms of the use of biochar as soil amendment.
