This book, titled "Biological Invasions and Animal Behaviour", is the first ever published monograph about the role of behaviour in biological invasions.

The new book joins a broad number of international experts in this field in order to examine the role of animal behaviour in the success and the impact of biological invasions, from both invasive species and native impacted species point of view. Cambridge University Press published this monograph on October 13, and it has been edited by the CSIC researcher  at CREAF,  Daniel Sol, with Judith S. Weis, researcher at Rutgers University (USA).

The invasion success depends on several factors, and behaviour is conventionally considered as one of the most relevant. However, this dimension has never been treated in any monograph before. Covering a wide range of issues and case studies, the book assesses the importance of animal behaviour during the whole invasion process. Thus, behaviour becomes essential from the arrival and establishment of the animal to its expansion and impact, especially important in a climate change and habitat loss context.

The book is intended for  professional researchers and students interested in biological invasions, behavioural ecology and evolutionary biology.
