Uforest’s first generation of urban foresters will transform a paved square of the UAB into a climate shelter

A 2000 m2 expanse of concrete wrapped around grassy patches and a handful of trees that survive between enormous university buildings: This is the Plaça del Coneixement (“Knowledge Square”), a large, public space in the grounds of the Autonomous University of Barcelona (UAB), and now part of an educational challenge in the European project Uforest.

Uforest wants to train ambassadors to fill cities with trees

Through the Erasmus+ Uforest project, CREAF is opening a 15-minute survey aimed at people interested in promoting change in cities and filling them with trees and urban greenery. The survey will be used to create a custom-made training program.

Why not hold more classes outdoors?

The European project Clearing House has today launched a survey of primary and secondary school teachers throughout Catalonia to discover whether or not they hold classes outdoors, what they feel the drawbacks or obstacles to doing so are, and in what subject areas they bring up urban green spaces.
