Albert Vila Bonfill
My name is Albert Vila, I have a hybrid professional and academic profile between earth sciences, design and technology. I have a degree in environmental sciences (UdG, 1998), a master's degree in geographic information systems (UAB, 2005), a postgraduate degree in bioarchitecture (ESUPT, 2014) and a master's degree in design of emerging futures (FabLab Barcelona, IAAC and Elisava, 2024). In the professional field I have worked in biological water treatment systems, in biodiversity monitoring and environmental education, in geographic information systems and, above all, in biodiversity management and protected natural areas.
I feel comfortable navigating the biosphere-technosphere interface. I am fascinated by how we can use technology to understand natural designs, processes and strategies and how, through biomimicry, we are able to apply what nature teaches us to design new products, strategies and more efficient and sustainable solutions.
At CREAF I will provide technical support to the Microclim and Eco-fun team in the areas of sensorics, prototyping, geographic information systems and fieldwork. I find it particularly motivating, after a long period of time dedicated to management, to be able to collaborate on research projects.
In my free time I collaborate on citizen science projects and practice outdoor physical activities such as cycling, playing volleyball or hiking.
